Professional and Safety Notice

Education, not a licence

Glowence Spa courses are educational material for adults. They are not an accredited qualification, a certificate of professional competence or a licence to practise. Buying or completing a course does not authorise you to offer any treatment for payment.

In many countries, states and cities, treatments such as massage, facials and other skin treatments, nail services, hair colouring and scalp treatments can only be offered by licensed or registered professionals, in approved premises, with insurance. Those rules vary widely. Before you offer a treatment to paying clients, check the requirements of the place where you work and make sure you meet them. That responsibility is yours.

Not medical advice

Nothing in the courses is medical, dermatological or therapeutic advice. The courses do not teach you to diagnose or treat any disease or medical condition. When a client has a skin, scalp, nail or health condition, or you are unsure, refer them to a doctor, dermatologist or other qualified health professional.

Client safety

• Always carry out a consultation and ask about allergies, medication, pregnancy and medical conditions before a treatment.
• Carry out patch tests and strand tests where the product manufacturer or local rules require them, including before hair colour and essential oil treatments.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions for every product and device. They take priority over any general guidance in a course.
• Follow the hygiene and sanitation rules that apply where you work.
• Stop a treatment if the client feels pain, burning, dizziness or discomfort.
• Do not treat when there is a contraindication, and refer the client instead.

Essential oils

Essential oils are concentrated substances. They must be diluted, can cause irritation or allergic reactions, and some are unsuitable in pregnancy, for people with certain conditions or for children. The scalp therapy and massage courses explain general safety principles, which do not replace the supplier's safety data or professional training.

Business content

The business course gives general education about pricing, management and marketing. It is not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice. Registration, tax and insurance requirements differ from country to country; confirm them with a qualified local adviser. We do not promise any particular income or result.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use what you learn, for your clients' safety and for complying with the law where you work. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage resulting from the way you apply the course material. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights under articles 12 to 27 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
